Association History

You have to know where you’ve been to know where you are going. Kappa holds a special place in its heart for Fraternity history, but every association of our organization has unique beginnings of its own. Each plays a part in shaping us today and continuing the Kappa tradition beyond college.

"Kappa is for a lifetime”

Join us for fun, friendship, and service!

Whether you are new to the area, interested in professional networking, looking for public service opportunities, or simply wanting to reconnect with old friends, the Philadelphia Alumnae Association of Kappa Kappa Gamma is here for YOU!

Our association was chartered on April 30, 1900—the oldest alumnae association in Beta Province—and has been vibrant and successful ever since. Members hail from 55 Kappa chapters across the United States and Canada and reside in five counties in the greater Philadelphia area. Our cross-generational, diverse group of women enjoys getting together socially and being involved in our community, all the while building leadership skills and forging friendships that span decades.

Philly Kappas are always on the move! We support the Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation; Kappa’s national philanthropy, RIF (Reading Is Fundamental); and our local philanthropies. Additionally, we support and advise our local chapter, Zeta Iota, at Villanova University. Our calendar is also filled with enriching social opportunities ranging from dinner dates to play dates, cultural events to urban adventures. There is something for everyone!

Come rediscover Kappa as an active alumna. Join us, and you’ll see that Kappa is indeed for a lifetime…
